Lizette, mother of 2 boys, is very enthusiastic about Coblo

As the mom of two boys, I know all too well how much fun construction toys are. From stacking blocks to building roads, we get a lot of construction done at our house. We recently discovered Coblo construction toys. These are magnetic toys with building blocks in all sorts of bright colors. And they're so much fun! It's not just our children who enjoy making the most beautiful creations with them.

Coblo: the best magnetic construction toy

Coblo is still a relatively new brand. It was only founded in 2021 by Elzemiek in the Netherlands. During the years she and her family lived in America with three young children, she saw how much fun her children had with magnetic building blocks. She decided to develop her own colorful version of safe and sturdy magnetic building blocks. Thus, COBLO: Construction Blocks was born. Four years later, however, the toy makes many children's hearts beat faster. My boys are incredibly enthusiastic.

What makes Coblo construction toys so much fun

At first glance, the bright colors of the Coblo building blocks are immediately striking. They come in the basic colors yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, and green. The figures come in squares, triangles, and large triangles, and they feel very sturdy. And they certainly are. No matter how many times they fall to the ground when a structure is dismantled, the blocks absorb the impact effortlessly. They also stay clean, and after all that building, not a scratch can be seen on the ABS plastic.

Those are the practical points. What makes Coblo construction toys so incredibly fun? Building with Coblo building blocks offers endless possibilities! With the magnets in each piece, you can effortlessly fit one piece onto the next. This makes the construction toy suitable even for young children who are just beginning to stack. (Specifically, the toy is not suitable for children under three years old due to the small parts, such as the magnets, incorporated into the toy.) The toy really captures children's imaginations. You can create beautiful two-dimensional figures lying flat on the floor. You can also use it to create letters or numbers. My toddler loves building in three dimensions the most. For example, a real boat or even a castle. Because the creations can become increasingly complex, Coblo construction toys are also fun for older children. It grows with them, so to speak. And although building is often associated with boys, this Coblo toy is just as much fun for girls.

The educational value of magnetic building blocks

Coblo falls under the category of "open-ended toys." This means toys without prescribed play or shape. Children can let their imaginations run wild and create anything they want. This toy therefore greatly stimulates children's creativity. Coblo is also a STEAM toy (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Through play, children are introduced to educational subjects, such as learning colors and shapes. Playing with construction toys also contributes to children's motor development and enhances their spatial awareness. These are all fantastic educational benefits of Coblo.

There are several sets of Coblo building blocks available. A basic pack of 8 pieces is available. While you might not be able to build a huge amount, the price makes it a nice addition to a birthday wish list, for example. A basic pack of 20 pieces allows you to build a very tall tower or castle. You can also choose a pack of 35, 60, or even 100. And of course, you can mix and match all the COBLO building blocks. From 20 pieces onwards, you also get an inspiration booklet and a bag to conveniently store all the pieces together.

The booklet provides inspiration for shapes you can create with Coblo. The best part, of course, is letting children have free rein with this awesome toy. And when they're really proud of what they've made, you can share your most beautiful creations on Instagram with #coblo.
