Margot from Jippie Jee Childcare talks about Coblo

Margot from Jippie Jee childcare speaks:

For a few weeks now, we've had the Coblo at the daycare. These are colored, translucent blocks with magnets inside. There are square blocks, windows, and three different kinds of triangles. There's also a marble run and a race track. We only have the blocks so far, but they're such a hit!

From the very first moment, the children played with it enthusiastically. This open-ended toy is good for cognitive development, stimulating children's imaginations and creativity.

It's a very varied and versatile toy. That's why I'd like to give you some ideas about what you can do with this open-ended toy.

  • Naturally fun to build, the nice thing is that it can be done in 2D as well as 3D!
  • Place the blocks in front of a window and watch the light shine through. You'll see the color pattern on the floor. It creates a magical effect.
  • Besides the beautiful blocks, you can also buy a marble run that you can combine with the blocks. Or, like we did, you can build your own marble run using a wooden plank from the climbing triangle.
  • Racetrack: you can build a track for cars using just the blocks, but there's also a separate track available. That's definitely still on my wish list! Because how cool is it that kids can build their own racetrack?! Younger children can build a track on the ground, while older children can build a more complex two-level track. They can build a different track every time and see how fast the car crosses the finish line!
  • Color recognition and learning. This can be done by making containers and putting the correct colored beads or pom-poms in them. Another option is to build garages for the cars and have your child drive the correct color car into the correct garage!
  • Looking through the blocks. What color will everything be now?
  • Making figures or Mandelas.
  • Making a domino row
  • Recognizing and exploring colors. What color do you get if you place blue and red on top of each other and then look through them?
  • Use as a base for imaginative play. For example, I used the green blocks for the grassland for the farm animals, the blue blocks for the water animals, and the yellow blocks for the savannah animals.
  • Making letters with the blocks
  • Place the shapes in the correct place. Trace each shape onto a piece of paper and have your child place the correct shape on it.
  • Create a template using the blocks, take a picture of it, and print it out. Give your child the template and have them copy it.
  • Discover the magnetic power of the blocks. Are there any surfaces they stick to? Like the radiator or the refrigerator, for example?
  • Make containers from the blocks for the markers or pencils.
  • Build a maze.
  • Play The game is tic-tac-toe. Everyone gets 8 blocks of the same color. The first player to get 3 blocks in a row wins.
  • Build a rainbow in 2D or even 3D

I think this toy is really the golden tip!!
